A YEARLONG, IN-PERSON FELLOWSHIP · PHOENIX
You’ve built a life.
Now what?
Modus House brings twelve accomplished people, our Fellows, together for a year to explore what shapes how they live, discover what matters to them now, and put new possibilities into practice.
Big ideas from science, philosophy, and the arts challenge familiar beliefs about ourselves, other people, and the world. Through shared experiences and honest conversation, Fellows explore what these ideas could mean for how they live, relate, and contribute.
What got you here may not reveal what comes next.
The experience that helped you build your life still matters. It also shapes what you notice. Artificial intelligence and shifts in work and society are changing familiar expectations. Even when we’ve checked the boxes of success, we may sense that there is more to how we want to live and what we want our lives to serve.
Scientists, scholars, philosophers, and artists are challenging established ideas about perception, consciousness, intelligence, and the world we inhabit. Modus House brings those questions into conversations, relationships, and everyday decisions, where they can reveal possibilities familiar frames leave unseen.
“What do I believe, and why?” “Can I understand someone without agreeing with them?” “How do the groups I belong to influence my choices?” “What do I want to create or contribute?”
A repeating practice across the year
01
Explore with your cohort
Your cohort is the twelve Fellows who meet and learn together throughout the year. In weekly gatherings, scholarship, research and thoughtful work from science, philosophy, the arts, and social sciences, offers perspectives on a question. Facilitators guide this inquiry through ideas, shared experiences, and daily practice.
02
Test ideas in daily life
Fieldwork means trying something in everyday life between gatherings and noticing what happens. Ask a different question, listen differently, or try another response in a relationship or decision. An intentional partner, your dyad, helps you examine what you notice.
03
Return and reflect together
In Circle, Fellows return after Fieldwork to share experiences and consider what they mean. Creation brings learning into a real social context: develop something together that others can encounter or use.
The question is not only what an idea means. It is what becomes possible when you live with it. Fellows decide what to affirm, change, or create, and how to bring their time, experience, relationships, and resources into alignment with what they discover.

WHY NOW
What got us here
may not reveal what comes next.
Experience, expertise, and success shape what we can see. As technology, society, and our own lives change, those familiar frames may no longer be sufficient.
Scientists, scholars, philosophers, and artists are opening new questions about perception, consciousness, intelligence, and the world we inhabit. Modus House brings those questions into relationships, decisions, and ordinary life.
THE INQUIRY
THE INQUIRY
Provocative ideas.
Lived questions.
Eight inquiries move through Self, Other, Society, and World, with Creation woven throughout the year.

Offering
An idea challenges an assumption. An embodied encounter makes it tangible. You test it in life, examine what happened with others, and give what you learn a form others can use.
THE EXPERIENCE
What matters now?
What will you do with what you find?
Seeing differently opens space to recognize what you care about, what makes you feel alive, and what you want your life to serve.
Fellows explore how to bring their time, attention, expertise, relationships, and resources into closer alignment with what they discover. What to affirm, change, or create remains theirs to decide.
BUILD THE FIRST YEAR WITH US
Twelve people. What could they set in motion?
Fellows carry what changes into the relationships, organizations, and communities they influence. The founding year will test whether wider perception leads to different choices and contributions.
Modus House is bringing together founding investors, co-founding facilitators, and partners to help make the first year possible.
