ABOUT MODUS · A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER
I am building the room I was looking for.
A place to bring a lifetime of experience into questions that expertise alone cannot answer, alongside people willing to see differently.
Why now
The questions that brought me to Modus are personal, but they are not mine alone. Many of us have built substantial lives while the world around us is changing in ways that unsettle familiar assumptions about work, community, and the future. We are asking how to live well, what to trust, and where our experience can be of use.
THE FOUNDER
I spent more than two decades building organizations, programs, and partnerships across fields. I know what ambition, expertise, and disciplined execution can make possible. I also know they did not answer every question that mattered to me.
Throughout my life, I have returned to spirituality and intuition. I am giving them a fuller place now. My inner life kept drawing me toward questions about purpose, a familiar path that no longer fits, and what I might see if I listened differently.
I wanted to explore those questions without stepping away from the life I had built.
I wanted my thinking, intuition, and embodied experience in the same inquiry, with people whose perspectives would challenge my own. I wanted to feel more present in my own life, clearer about what gave it purpose, and more deliberate in how I spent my time and energy.
Across my work, I’ve seen what becomes possible when people with different lives engage one another seriously over time. Modus grew from that observation and from my own need for a place where the questions could be lived and examined together.
“
Across pediatric healthcare, biotechnology, higher education, and space exploration, I have brought people with different expertise together to build programs and partnerships that did not yet exist. That experience informs how I am building Modus: with intellectual rigor, care for the people involved, and the discipline to make an idea real.
WHAT I BRING
Building across boundaries.
Why Modus House?
THE NAME
Modus is a way. The House is a place to examine the patterns by which we act and live, and to become more able to shape them.
modus operandi
How we act. The habits and assumptions behind our choices.
modus vivendi
How we live. The way we make room for one another and the world.
The Fellowship is the first expression.
WHAT COMES NEXT
It begins with twelve Fellows whose choices already affect other people. The first year will test what becomes possible when they expand how they see, bring that learning into their lives, and create something together for others.
We will learn from the cohort’s experience and public offerings as we shape what Modus House can become. The Fellowship has its own rhythm and commitments; the Method explains how each inquiry moves from ideas into practice.
AN INVITATION
What becomes possible together?
I am inviting founding investors, co-founding facilitators, and partners to help bring the first year to life. If the work resonates with yours, I would welcome a conversation.
